Hiromi Ballantyne is the company owner and designer. After educating in art, woodcraft pedagogy and furniture making in Japan, Hiromi moved to Öland and Sweden with her English husband. Capellagården’s course and the Swedish environment, which was child friendly, led to her settling here. Today, Hiromi merges her own culture’s knowledge and experiences into her own company PAZU.
PAZU-Playfurniture Design and PAZU-Creative Education have a child’s perspective in focus and at the same time fit in as a natural part of the furnishing. The products are suitable for both the home and for public environments, for example preschools.
Safety and function are particularly important when it concerns children. For this reason she works with prototypes, involve teachers and test the form and function with different children’s groups before anything becomes a sellable product. |
